Simple’s allure grabs you. One word leads you to shorter sentences, words, and thoughts. Easier to understand writing leads to bigger potential audiences. Simple better. Everything else not so much.

John bought a Ford F-150. Buying it made him happy. It gleamed in the morning light.

John had always wanted a Ford F-150 so buying the big red pickup made him happy. He spent the first morning after the purchase, in his driveway, washing and waxing the truck. The grin reflecting in a gleaming side panel reminded him of hard he had worked to make life better.
